Course Goal
The purpose of this program is to identify emergency service personnel who demonstrate competency in the performance requirements necessary to perform the duties of a firefighter.
Course Description
The NFPA 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications identifies the minimum requirements for a person at the first level of progression. A person certified at the Fire Fighter I level will have demonstrated competency in the necessary knowledge and skills, while working under direct supervision, to function safely and effectively as a member of a firefighting team. Information on the certification testing process, pre-requisites and study guide information can be obtained from the Candidate Handbook and Application.
